Hey everyone, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Demco Air Force One supplemental braking system, here on a 2015 GMC Sierra 2,500. So a supplemental braking system is required in nearly every state for vehicles over a certain weight. So it's gonna be a good idea to use one for your towing setup. Now, a supplemental braking system, what it does in its most basic form, it pretty much transfers the brakes from your motor home to the towed vehicle. So the reason this is important is, some of our towed vehicles, especially our larger truck here, they're gonna put strain on the motor homes brake. It's gonna wear the motor home's brakes faster and it's not gonna allow us to come to a smooth and effective stop, as we would normally when we're not towing. more

SMI Air Force One Braking System Installation - 2018 GMC Sierra 2500- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 20018 GMC Sierra 2500, we're going to be taking a look at the SMI Air Force One supplemental braking system for motor homes with air brakes, part number SM9943. The Air Force One is going to be a proportional braking system and it's going to take the air pressure from your motor home's air brakes and apply it to the towed vehicle's brakes. So it's going to match up perfectly. Now if we just tap our brakes in our coach, it's going to slightly apply them to the car.now when I apply the brakes in my motor home, I do have an indicator that's mounted in the towed vehicle and then it will go out when I release the brakes. Now on the operating unit itself, we're going to have a vacuum port here on the end and it is labeled. Then on the side, we're going to have the exhaust port. more
